#FortheRecord: Janet Jackson Celebrates 30 Years of Rhythm Nation

Thirty years ago, the iconic Janet Jackson, showed the world her fusion of a variety musical styles with the release of Rhythm Nation 1814. Fans were in front of their television, learning the eight counts and fancy footwork to barrier-breaking hits like “Rhythm Nation,” while singing off key to “Miss You Much.” The 12x platinum album spawned seven Top 5 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Today, September 20, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, Ms. Jackson reissues a digital-only version of one of her most successful albums.

Rhythm Nation 1814: The Remixes consists of nine mini-albums with a total of 90 tracks. “Alright,” “Escapades,” and “Black Cat” are among some of the originals that now have R&B and house mixes. Some classic songs also have Spanish mix. All nine mini-albums are available now, across all digital platforms, for the first time ever.
